The piano's arrive

On Monday we hosted the Zone activity day at our home.  We had all eighteen Elders and Sisters for the entire day.  We show the film "The Best Two Years", and they all enjoyed the comedy, but I think they also saw a lot of truth.

Sister Ivie created a couple of getting to know you activities that everyone participated in and enjoyed. They were asked to bring one of their favorite photo's and we scanned them into the computer and then showed them through the projector.   It is amazing the different countries, backgrounds, and family story that these young missionaries are able to share.  There is a ton of faith being exercised by everyone one of these missionaries.  We pray for them everyday and for their families to experience the tender mercies from the Lord for giving such a sacrifice at this time in their young lives.

We received a call on Monday that said the first shipment of keyboards had arrived at the Mission Home.  So Tuesday morning we were up early and traveling to Cape Coast to get the keyboards so the students could start receiving them on Tuesday evening during their lessons.

We went exploring while we were waiting for piano lessons to start.  This is Apam villiage on the ocean.  The fisherman were just coming in and unloading their fish

The lady's wade out to the side of the boat and the fisherman load fish in to the large bowls they carry on their heads.

One of our members is a teacher and he organized a large group of schools to have a sports completion.    They had three different games.  This is a picture of a net ball game, (notice there is no net)  It is similar to basketball except you can take any steps, and when one of your team members gets into the zone they shoot the ball and nobody can interfere until you have shot.

This is a game of handball.  The same as soccer but you can't kick the ball, you can only take three steps with out dribbling the ball and then you throw the ball into the net past the goalie, but the goalie has a safety line the opponent cannot cross while throwing the ball

These little guys are playing football on a field the same size the pros use.  It is incredible the speed and endurance these kids have chasing that ball.

Sister Ivie watching in the shade sitting a school desk a teacher brought out for us to sit on.

A normal classroom for about fifty kids and one teacher.  She is shown working on here lesson plan

We were out to a village in the bush to show the restoration film, but there was no electric that day and the adults we all at a nearby village to attend a funeral.  As you can see Sister Ivie has attracted her normal crowd of kids.  Stickers are an amazing item.

I am sitting in the truck and these boys had gathered around and several wanted to pet my funny hair, and get their picture taken.

It started raining and with in minutes it is a downpour and so you run for cover.  This is the school room we were going to use.  Sister Ivie had all of the children gathered round and she taught them a couple of primary songs.  the rain was so noisy you had to yell to be heard over the tin roof rain noise.

These are the members of the small branch that we visit fairly regularly  This is the same branch we visited the very first Sunday we were here.

This is the male group

These are the sisters in the branch.  Sister Ivie is standing next to lady that attended for the first time the same Sunday of our first visit.  She has been baptized and the day she was confirmed she was called to be the Relief Society President.  She is an amazing lady.
